The EIT Challenge:
November is not far away and it's time to start gearing up for the challenge to abstain from complaining for the entire month of November. There are a couple factors that may make this year's challenge a bit more difficult. First, many are facing financial obstacles this year that they have not faced before. It is hard to stay positive in the face of hardship. Second, it is election month. No matter who wins, someone will complain about it. The opinions on both sides are very strong and heartfelt. This almost guarantees a barrage of opportunities for criticizing and negativity. These factors, while making the challenge a bit more daunting, also make the commitment to thankful living much more important. The darker the surroundings, the brighter the light will shine. The more negative the climate, the more abundant the opportunities to make a positive difference in someone's life. Now more than ever we need people who are determined to rise above the norm, and choose to make the world around them better. Are you up for it? Are you willing to commit to resisting the urge to complain through the month of November? If so, don't take the challenge alone, bring a friend along with you and watch the awesome things that happen when people choose to live thankfully.
The Challenge: To abstain from all complaining through the month of November.
Purpose: To become less critical, more thankful and create an awareness of how blessed we truly are.
We live in a world often surrounded by negativity and criticalness. This spirit of contention and strife is contagious and we often don’t realize how cynical and ungrateful we have become.
The Experiment in Thankfulness asks the questions?: What would happen to my attitude and outlook on life if I stopped dwelling on what is wrong or bad and made an intentional effort to focus on what is right or good? Just how blessed am I and how has my poor attitude blinded me to the truly good things in life? The answers to those questions may surprise you.
Are you up for the challenge? Do you have the courage to change your way of thinking? Join many others in accepting the challenge. You might find blessings you didn’t know you had, and you just might become a blessing you didn’t know you could be.
